Sponsored by the Living in the Divine Will Prayer Group, Nanticoke, the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe comes to the Diocese of Scranton! This is an exact 4’ x 6’ digital replica of the Miraculous Image of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, which appeared on Juan Diego’s tilma in Mexico on December 12, 1531. It still exists today for all to see in the Basilica near Mexico City. Our Lady appears as the pregnant Mother of God. She came to offer faith, hope and consolation to the oppressed Aztec Nation. Our Lady put an end to the human sacrifice being offered to pagan gods and converted nine million Aztecs over the next nine years!
The Missionary Image is blessed by Monsignor Diego Monroy, Rector of the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It has journeyed throughout America. Monsignor Monroy blessed the Image for the mission of promoting sanctity of the family, solidarity of the Church in America, a culture of life and a civilization of love.
