Event Details

June 11th, is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, or Corpus Christi Sunday.  As part of the USCCB’s National Eucharistic Revival that began on Corpus Christi Sunday, 2022, Saint Michael’s Parish will hold a Eucharistic Procession. From the Knights of Columbus Eucharistic Processions booklet:  “A Eucharistic Procession, just like Eucharistic Adoration, is an extension of the worship of Jesus Christ, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. ….  A parish community that undertakes a Eucharistic Procession has made the decision to publicly proclaim its belief in Jesus’ True Presence in the Eucharist.  By this public witness of faith, the parish invites people in the community to encounter the Risen Lord present in the Eucharistic Host. ….  The procession is, finally, an invitation to Jesus himself to be a part of our daily lives, to be immersed in the world in which we live.” Following the 9:30 am Mass, Father Joe will expose the Blessed Sacrament for Adoration until the beginning of the procession, which will begin at 4:30 pm, leaving Saint Michael’s Church and processing to the entrance of St. Michael’s Cemetery.  We will pause for a few moments of prayer before returning to St. Michael’s Church for Benediction.  The Canton Fire Department will assist with both crossings of Route 14.  You are invited and encouraged to be a part of the procession.
