The Good Shepherd Festival is the largest outdoor church festival in the Hazleton area. Live bands including: North of 40 and Kartune. The festival features all of your favorite foods including: chicken fingers, haluski, halupki, sausage and peppers, potato pancakes, pierogies, pulled pork, steak hoagies, funnel cakes, beer and wine coolers.

Family Festival of Bl. Carlo Acutis Parish
Plans are continuing for the Family Festival of Bl. Carlo Acutis Parish at St. Anthony of Padua Church & Hall, Rebecca Street, in Throop, on Saturday & Sunday, August 2 & 3. The two day event will have festivities for all ages, with Youth Events opening the festival at 9AM on Saturday, August 2.
On Saturday, the Food & Game Stands open at 3PM. There will be a Bake Sale in the Parish Hall with a wide variety of delicious homemade items. There will be “Live Entertainment” beginning at 5:00PM. Food available will include: Haluski, Pierogi, Piggy Soup, Potato Pancakes, Pizza, Sausage & Peppers, Porchetta Sandwiches, Pizza Frita, Pasta & Broccoli, Wimpies, Funnel Fries, Meatball Sandwiches and more.
Games for children of all ages. The Parish Grounds in Throop will remain open until 9PM.
On Sunday, August 3, the doors of the Parish Hall open at Noon. BINGO begins at 1PM.
A menu of food items will be available from the Hall Kitchen Crew. There will also be a wide variety of Baskets (Raffle) available as well as a Grand Prize 50/50 Drawing scheduled to take place at approximately 4:30PM. All are Welcome. See You There! Questions contacts include:

Saint John the Evangelist Parish Summer Fest ’25 will be held Thursday, August 7 through Saturday, August 9 from 5:00-10:00 PM each evening on the grounds of St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston, and in the Msgr. Bendik Pastoral Center. Featured entertainment this year will include The Taxmen on Thursday, Joe Stanky and the Cadets on Friday, and Flaxy Morgan on Saturday. Fun and food for all, with delicious foods, variety booths, cash bingo, children’s games, and raffles!

Description of Event
Italian Festival in Honor of St. Rocco will be held August 8, 9 and 10, 2025 at St. Rocco’s Church Grounds, 122 Kurtz St., Dunmore, featuring food, games and live entertainment. The Festival opens Friday and Saturday at 5:00 PM and on Sunday at 1 PM Following the Noon Mass and Procession.
Live Entertainment: Friday: DHS Marching Units & Cheerleaders and Jeffrey James Band
Saturday: Holy Cross HS Cheerleaders and Popstar Drive
Sunday: Feast Day Mass & Procession at 12 Noon followed by Vinsko Entertainment, Scranton Prep Cheerleaders, The Luongo Brothers Band, and FIREWORKS AT 9 PM.
