“Stewardship is an expression of discipleship, with the power to change how we understand and live out our lives.”

-“Stewardship: A Disciple’s Response”, USCCB

Stewardship is a disciple’s response — it is a way of putting our faith into practice. When we make a commitment to live as disciples and grow as good stewards, our daily decisions — about the ways we use our time, share our talents, face trials, give within our parish, diocese, and in the world — become focused and centered on Jesus.

Time is the universal gift. Everyone gets the same amount each day. We cannot add to it and we cannot slow it down. However, we can choose how we use it.

Stewardship of Time is:

-Talking to God in prayer

-Attending Masses and liturgical services

-Assisting with parish activities

-Investing in community activities

-Being present to family and friends.

Everyone has talents that are gifts from God. Stewardship invites us to offer our talents to our parish and community in order to build up the kingdom of God and spread the good news of the Gospel. We are also called to recognize the gifts and abilities in others and encourage them to use them for God’s work.

Stewardship of Talent is:

-Being a liturgical minister (lector, altar server, Eucharistic minister, choir member, usher, etc.)

-Serving on a parish committee/ministry

-Volunteering for events/fundraisers

-Leading a ministry

-Teaching our faith to individuals of all ages

-Witnessing and Evangelizing
