In keeping with a long standing tradition for the Catholic parishes of Greater Pittston, the Road to Resurrection will once again be held on the Wednesdays of Lent. Mass will be celebrated each Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. The annual Lenten journey will begin at Our Lady of the Eucharist, Pittston, on Wednesday, March 9th. On Wednesday, March 16th the Mass will be celebrated at Nativity of Our Lord, Duryea. The third step on the Lenten journey will be hosted by Sacred Heart of Jesus, Dupont on Wednesday, March 23rd. On Wednesday, March 30th the Mass will be celebrated at Queen of the Apostles, Avoca. The last step on the Road to Resurrection will be hosted by St. Joseph Marello, Pittston on Wednesday, April 6th at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome and encouraged to make this annual journey of faith and prayer. Additionally, the Deacons of the Greater Pittston Deanery will celebrate Sunday Evening Prayer during the Season of Lent. Evening Prayer with a Reflection and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament will be held at 5:00 p.m. each Sunday of Lent. Lenten Evening Prayer will rotate throughout the Churches of the Deanery beginning at Our Lady of the Eucharist on Sunday, February 6th. The schedule for the consecutive Lenten Sundays is March 13th at Nativity of Our Lord, March 20th at Our Lady of the Eucharist, March 27th at Queen of the Apostles, and April 3rd at St. Joseph Marello. All are welcome and encouraged to participate.
