Parishes across the Diocese of Scranton are busy preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and each parish plans on holding Masses that are open to the public. Due to COVID-19, anyone wishing to attend Mass is urged to plan ahead and familiarize themselves with the Diocesan safety guidelines and protocols. Anyone who plans to attend Mass is encouraged to check with their parish for specific Mass times and whether reservations are necessary for attendance. All individuals attending Mass must wear face masks and will need to maintain proper six foot physical distancing when entering a church, during Mass and while exiting the church. People who are at risk because of an underlying health issue or who are elderly or infirm are strongly encouraged to stay home, for their own health, and to avoid any risk of contracting the virus. The obligation to attend Mass remains suspended at this time. Furthermore, any person who is sick, exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, or caring for a loved one or immediate family member with symptoms of COVID-19, is urged to remain at home for the safety of others. Anyone who is hesitant to attend Mass on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day is encouraged to consider attending Mass during the Christmas Season, especially during the Christmas Octave, or participate in Mass via CTV: Catholic Television of the Diocese of Scranton or a livestream Mass from an individual parish.

Below is a listing of Christmas Mass schedules for parishes across the Diocese. Parishes that plan to livestream Masses on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are also identified. Because many parishes are taking reservations, please refer to any updated information from parishes, in case a church reaches its capacity.
