The National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) is a powerful, biennial, three-day experience of prayer, community, and empowerment for Catholic teenagers (of high-school age) and their adult chaperones.

The schedule includes keynote presentations, prayer, workshops, liturgy, and opportunities to participate in reconciliation and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, as well as recreational activities, concerts, and exhibits. A key component of NCYC is the thematic park which is a blend of traditional exhibit booths with interactive areas featuring service projects, games, recreation, live musical performances, arts and sports. NCYC is sponsored by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry, Inc. (NFCYM).

Attending NCYC is more than just a trip; it can be a life-changing experience. The goals of a pilgrimage, especially for young people, should reflect the general goals for youth ministry found in Renewing the Vision. As a reminder, those goals are:

  • To draw young people into responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the faith community
  • To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today
  • To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person

All activities for NCYC will take place at the Lucas Oil Stadium and Indianapolis Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 20 – 22, 2025. The Diocese of Scranton pilgrimage group will depart for Indianapolis on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 and return on Sunday, November 23, 2025. Details on departure locations will be forthcoming.

If you have any questions regarding the National Catholic Youth Conference, please contact the Youth Ministry Team at youthmin@dioceseofscranton.org or 570-207-2213 x1155.

WHAT IS THE COST?

The cost for each NCYC participant varies depending on the number of people occupying each room. We highly recommend for affordability that room occupancy for youth is based on a quadruple or triple occupancy.

The pricing is as follows:

  • Four People per Room Occupancy : $950 per person
  • Three People per Room Occupancy: $1,050 per person
  • Two People per Room Occupancy: $1,150 per person
  • Single Occupancy: $1,450 per person

The above prices include all fees for the conference including bus fees, conference tickets, daily breakfast, daily dinner, etc. The only thing not included is lunch. It is the responsibility of the parish to ensure that each student has money for lunch every day or that the parish has funds set aside each day to pay for student lunches. There is also the option to purchase pre-made lunches for each day of the conference, but this is the responsibility of your parish group to arrange. Please contact the Youth Ministry team if you have any questions about planning box lunches with the conference itself or putting money aside for daily lunches.

WHAT IS THE PAYMENT PLAN?

The following dates are due dates to make deposits. The amounts listed here are based on quadruple (4 per room) occupancy:

  • 1st Deposit: $250 due by May 15
  • 2nd Deposit: $175 due by July 15
  • 3rd Deposit: $175 due by September 1
  • Final Payment: $350 (or amount remaining) due by October 15

Please note: we recognize that because parish youth groups do fundraisers throughout the year, the due dates are not always met on time. We understand this, yet we also want to highly encourage using the due date model for payment, as this will help ease financial burdens in the payment process.

WHEN DO WE HAVE TO SUBMIT OUR LIST OF ATTENDEES?

  1. June 15 – Submit the tentative number of students, chaperones and clergy (priests and/or deacons) who are attending the conference. Please notify us at youthmin@dioceseofscranton.org or hrapp@dioceseofscranton.org as to the number of attendees you are hoping to bring and the breakdown of how many youth, chaperones and clergy.
  2. August 15 – The final list of individuals attending

Any changes made to the final list of names after August 15 will be at the expense of the parish. Refunds are available on conference tickets prior to September 1. If for some reason there are shifts on who can attend from your group after August 15, please contact the Youth Ministry team so we see what we can do to request full refunds, partial refunds or substitute attendees.
