Meet Fikile Ryder
DOJ Accredited Representative, Director of Community
Fikile Ryder brings over 10 years of experience as a Department of Justice accredited representative, dedicated to helping immigrants and refugees successfully navigate the complex immigration system. As an immigrant from Zimbabwe herself, Ms. Ryder brings valuable lived experience to her work. She personally understands the challenges, hopes, and dreams that accompany the immigration journey, allowing her to connect with clients on a deeper level and advocate with genuine empathy. Her expertise includes family-based petitions, adjustment of status applications, naturalization, humanitarian relief, and special programs for refugees and asylees.
Refugee Support Services (RSS)
Catholic Social Services has been offering Refugee Support Services for many years, helping eligible individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency in the United States. Our RSS programs serve:
- Refugees
- Afghan and Iraqi Special Immigrants (SIVs)
- Victims of Human Trafficking
- Cuban/Haitian Entrants
- Asylees
- Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees
- Afghan Humanitarian Parolees
We focus on helping participants find and maintain employment. Our services address barriers to employment including social adjustment challenges, English-language barriers, childcare needs, transportation etc.
Resettlement and Replacement (R & P)
We have been operating refugee programs since 1975 as an affiliate of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). We welcome families referred to our agency, including:
- Victims of trafficking and torture
- Congolese, Cuban/Haitian entrants
- Indochinese parolees
- Iraqi and Afghani special immigrants
- Unaccompanied children
- Ukraine, Syria etc.
Refugees receive support for 90 days before transitioning to the RSS program for longer-term case management.
Immigration Legal Services
Our Immigration program offers individuals and families affordable immigration legal services. Recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice, we provide:
- Legal representation
- Assistance with permanent residency applications
- U.S. citizenship guidance
- “Know Your Rights” Consultation
- Immigrant integration support
