ISLI is a peer-facilitated, faith-based leadership retreat designed by Fr. Thomas Chambers, C.S.C., at the University of Notre Dame. The retreat is designed to help high school students gain the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in both the leadership and membership roles of task-oriented groups. It is believed that leadership can be learned and will enhance a student’s education and life by improving his or her interpersonal relationships.
It is open to high school students who wish to learn about leadership and improve their already existing decision making and problem-solving skills through the teachings of the Catholic faith.
During the weekend, the students participate in activities that help them learn about positive communication, develop self-motivational skills, learn problem solving and decision making skills, practice leadership behavior, and examine different leadership styles. The students also celebrate Mass together and participate in Eucharistic Adoration.
The program is offered twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer.
The ISLI retreat is a leadership formation experience and may not be for every student due to the demanding nature of the schedule and necessity to share in small group processes. If ISLI does not seem like a suitable fit, please consider one of our other retreat programs.

Arrival Time: Tuesday, June 20th – Registration at 1:00 P.M.
Departure Time: Friday, June 23rd after the closing Mass at 6:00 P.M.

Who: Current 9th Grade – 12th Grade Students
Cost: Participants (first-time at ISLI) – $200 ($225 after June 5th)
Trainees (second time or third time at ISLI) – $225 ($240 after June 5th)
Fee covers program materials, meals, room and a t-shirt.
A $100.00 non-refundable deposit and reservation are required. Apply early. There are a limited number of spaces available for I.S.L.I. Registration will close June 15th.
