On November 16, 2017, 25,000 high school students and their adult chaperones will gather in Indianapolis, Indiana for the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC). This event is a three day experience of prayer with an exposure to outstanding speakers and an opportunity for our students to see the Catholic Church of the United States. Once again, the Diocese of Scranton is bringing together youth and adult leaders for NCYC. We have a brilliant team of youth ministers and priests who will make this pilgrimage successful and impactful.
The National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM) is the organization which plans the NCYC. NFCYM is in the process of re-building their website and the site for NCYC. Go to www.ncyc.info for information as it is released. Right now, you will find two promotional videos which will help you as you begin the journey.
We will be traveling to Indianapolis by bus, leaving on Wednesday, November 15 and returning on Sunday, November 19. At this time, we have two buses and we hope to fill them with 110 youth and adult chaperones.
You may be wary of the enormity and newness of this pilgrimage. Trust me when I tell you, that you are more than capable of making this trip a reality. Our planning team is ready and willing to assist you with any issues or concerns you might have. You may reach them by calling or e-mailing:

This, like any worthwhile endeavor, requires a significant investment of time, money and most importantly prayer. NCYC will be an incredible, life changing event for your high school students, so we want as many young people as possible to participate. Let’s work together to make sure they get there! Thank you for all that you do for the youth in your parish, cluster and region! If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me or other members of the team.
