These Spanish language materials produced by
the Archdiocese of Omaha consist in a set of
two DVDs which aim to foster understanding
and communication through dialogue. The DVDs
have five sessions in Spanish directed
toward the couple planning marriage. Four of
the sessions feature a Latino couple sharing
experiences; the fifth uses two Hispanic
counselors teaching skills for good couple
dialogue and conflict resolution. A manual
enhances DVD use. These materials coordinate
well with the central themes considered
essential for mutual understanding in the
FOCCUS premarital assessment
instrument.

This program parallels Picture of Love
(designed by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles,
published by Living the Good News). It is
not merely a translation but was developed
for Hispanic couples. It is designed to
enable Spanish-speaking presenters to talk
to their community at their own level and
need and to address sacramental preparation
requirements and numerous physical and
spiritual needs of Hispanics. A presenter
guide and participant workbook deal with the
sacrament, family of origin, communication,
conflict resolution, finances, intimacy,
goals, and spirituality. Special sections
address interchurch marriage, cohabitation,
and NFP.
