Summer
Course: How to Build Parish Social Concerns
and Pro-Life Committees
David Clarke, Diocesan Director of Social
Concerns/Pro-Life Ministry, will present a
continuing education course this summer on
“How to Build Parish Social Concerns and
Pro-Life Committees.”
The course will be presented during three
weekly (Tuesday) meetings on July 21, 28 and
Aug. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Diocesan
Center in Scranton.
Participants will learn the necessary skills
for managing and coordinating committees in
order to keep them up and running.
Serving as a foundation to the work of the
committees, the sessions begin with an
overview of Catholic Social Teaching.
Subsequent sessions will include public
information and education, pastoral care for
those in need, public policy, and prayer and
worship.
