Diocese Announces Administrators for
Catholic Schools
The Diocese of Scranton has determined the
administrative positions for each school
within the newly formed systems for
Lackawanna, Wayne and Luzerne counties.
According to Joseph Casciano, Diocesan
Secretary for Catholic Education and
Superintendent of Schools, the process of
filling individual assignments was complex
because of the major reorganization of the
schools into the two systems.
Seniority was a key factor, he said. Also,
some principals have accepted new positions
outside the Diocese, some have decided to
retire, and several chose not to accept a
position at this time.
Administrators for the schools in Lycoming,
Bradford, Monroe and Pike Counties will be
announced after the final plan for those
areas is promulgated in March.
“On behalf of Bishop Martino and the entire
Diocese, I want to express our gratitude to
all of our administrators,” Mr. Casciano
said. “Each one has served with dedication
and a commitment to Catholic education. We
especially appreciate their support during
this strategic planning process.”
