Boscov’s and Catholic Social Services Celebrate
Christmas in July To Help Needy

 

Boscov’s and the Diocese of Scranton’s Catholic Social Services offices in Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties are celebrating Christmas a little early this year. Special opportunities to help the needy and feed the hungry will be offered to customers at the Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and Hazleton stores from July 11-25.

At the Scranton store in the Steamtown Mall, a Christmas tree at the Courtesy Desk on the 2nd level will be filled with Santas. Customers can pick a Santa and help support a person in need by purchasing the item listed and bringing it to the Courtesy Desk.

Customers can also buy a pin-up at any register for $1 to help support Catholic Social Services. Every dollar goes directly to the organization.

The store will also be conducting a food drive for St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen, which has a serious need for canned fruit, vegetables and soup. Canned food can be dropped off at the Courtesy Desk on the 2nd level.

At the Wilkes-Barre store in center city, a Christmas tree in the Men’s Department will be decorated with snowflakes representing men in need of socks and underwear. Customers can pick a snowflake and help support a person in need by purchasing the item listed and bringing it to the Courtesy Desk.

The store will also be conducting a food drive for St. Vincent DePaul Kitchen, which has a serious need for canned fruit, vegetables and soup. Canned food can be dropped off at the Courtesy Desk.

At the Hazleton store, a Christmas tree in the Small Appliance Department across from the up escalator will feature Santas representing men in need of socks and underwear. Customers can pick a Santa and help support a person in need by purchasing the item listed and bringing it to the Courtesy Desk.
