Testimonials:
“If
Catholic Social Services did not offer
affordable counseling services, I would be a
very different person today and possibly
dead. If these counseling services were not
offered at the sliding scale, I would not
have sought services as I could not afford
private counseling. I hope someday that I
can, as my best friend says, “pay it
back” and help someone else as I have been
helped here.”

17
year old Amanda approached “The Bridge”,
Youth Service Parenting Education Program of
Catholic Social Services to assist her with
parenting her newborn son. Amanda’s mother
and grandmother had both passed away from
cancer one month prior to the birth of her
son, who due to Amanda’s grief had been
born a month and a half premature. CSS
assisted Amanda with support and information
on parenting/nutrition during the first year
as well as helped with material assistance
for her baby, including clothing, infant
carrier swing, bottles, etc. Amanda
continued her senior year in high school and
was accepted into the local community
college. Amanda will be the first in both
parents’ families to ever attempt college.
“I
was going through a crisis and needed major
help. God led me to Catholic Social
Services. I wanted a spiritual outlook that
I felt the agency’s professionals would
surely provide. I accepted that spiritual
and professional help and have been greatly
encouraged. I am grateful for them being
there.”
